La Mesa Village Enhancement Fund Program

On July 9, 2019, the La Mesa City Council established the La Mesa VillCity of La Mesa 0608-HoffmanPhotoVideo-00007age Enhancement Fund Program.  The goal of the program is to support the business community and enhance the vibrancy of the Downtown Village by providing funding for non-profit organizations and businesses to conduct events, promotions, programs, or advertising activities within the boundaries of Parking District Number One.  A key program requirement is that applications for funding must demonstrate a community benefit to the businesses in Parking District Number One. The program is funded from 50% of annual net parking revenues for each funding cycle of the program.

Application Process

The City is now accepting applications for Enhancement Fund Program funding. Applications will be accepted from October 9, 2019 to November 9, 2019 for events, promotions, programs, and advertising activities that benefit the Downtown Village.

Before applying, please read the Program Guidelines carefully. 

How to Apply – Application Instructions

Download the Enhancement Fund Program Application.  Complete all fields of information in the application form. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant and required to resubmit.  Remember to save a copy of your completed application form before submitting.  In addition to the completed application form, please provide all materials and files such as event maps, advertising renderings, and banner designs necessary to clearly communicate your funding request.  For special events, an event map is required with a completed application form.  If you are a non-profit organization applying for funding, please include proof of non-profit status with your completed application.

Once you have completed the application form, email it and any necessary supplemental materials or files to Lyn Dedmon, Senior Management Analyst, at LDedmon@cityoflamesa.us.  Please title the subject line of the email "La Mesa Village Enhancement Fund Program Submittal".

Please note, Section 2.0 – “Special Event Permit Process” and Section 3.0 – “Meeting with the Special Event Management Team” of the Special Event Guidelines pertains to the special event permit process once an applicant applies for a Special Event Permit, not the Enhancement Fund Program process and timeline.
